2014 edition

April 1/2 2014 – 5th Edition La Grande Bouffe – Comenius Exchange Project Special guest the KA Ekeren school, Antwerp, Belgium and for the second time the Study Hall School of Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, India. Once again a very international edtion with a group of Afs-Intercultura foreign students too. Pre-Festival activites – March 23/31 2014 An unusual way to visit the town through the sites of a famous Italian movie “La vita è bella” – “Life is beautiful”. They played games taken from some movie scenes inspiring a scavenger hunt – a good way to explore the narrow lanes of the old town of Arezzo. Being food the theme the foreign and Italian students took part in a Master Chef like competition in which they had to prove their knowledge about the Italian cuisine and the ability to cook and serve some dishes. A day Back to the Past in the Casentino valley captured by a Renaissance Italian style theatre along with a workshop about the Venetian Commedia dell’Arte, a visit throughout the castle of Earl Guidi in Poppi where Dante Alighieri spent some time and last but not the least a homemade lunch with some local products like crostini toscani, stuffed potato ravioli, cheese and desserts. Two shooting days, one playing a remake of some scenes of “La vita è bella” and one videoclip recalling a famous 60s Italian song – Viva La Pappa al Pomodoro – which is also a traditional Tuscan dish. Meanwhile Indians and Afsers were involved in a video making production filmed inside a school. Dubbing and CinemìChallenge Game were part of the programme. Many more activities were offered to our guests in the evenings, Welcoming party, Speakeasy Road Show by Clive Griffiths and movie night. April 1/2 2014 A selection of all the best videos produced in India, in Belgium and in Arezzo were shown to an audience and the Festival jury. 2013 edition

April 17/20 2013 – 4th Edition Bollywood Project Special guest the Study Hall School of Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, India. A very international edtion also due to the presence of a group of Afs-Intercultura foreign students coming from Asia, South America, Turkey and Northern Europe. Our experts involved Indians and Afsers in a video making production filmed along the streets of the old town and not only… dubbing and theatre workshops as well. Many more activities were offered to our guests in the evenings, Welcoming party, Speakeasy Road Show by Clive Griffiths, a movie night and an Indian-style dinner with traditional dances. A selection of all the best videos were shown to an audience and the Festival jury. They were produced by local and national schools – from the North to the South of the Boot- and on the final day prizes were awarded. Bollywood Project It’s a project to widen horizons and explore the culture and life of India by building bridges between the Italian and Indian film culture via the exchange of students and the realization of a short film in India. The two schools involved are the Indian school ‘Study Hall’ from Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, and the I.S.S. ‘Vittorio Fossombroni’ from Arezzo, Italy. The project was also made possible thanks to AFS -India and AFS- Italia who played an important role in the first contacts between the two schools and have been of help in the organization of the two trips. Phase 1: Italy – Arezzo 17th/20th April 2013 A group of about 10 students visited Arezzo from 10th to 25th April 2013 and was special guest of Cinemìcinemà Movie School Festival 4th edition. They had the chance to experience Italy as a country of art and cinematography as well as discover everyday life in an Italian family and school.  They were hosted by some of our students and also attended some lessons in the morning. They also met the other foreign guests of the festival and took part in some workshops, from shooting a short film to dubbing some film scenes into Italian. Phase 2: India – Lucknow 27th Oct/6th Nov – Mumbai 6th/10th Nov A group of our students visited the school in Lucknow from 27th October to 5th November 2013. They were hosted by Indian families and lived the Indian way. There they shot a short movie about the different styles in family life and school system, appreciating the traditions and the culture of Uttar Pradesh by taking part in dance, language and cooking workshops.
